The greatest thing about being a reader is that it's a lifetime of cheap entertainment, as long as you keep looking for things. Curiosity requires an effort, but it's something free to have. If you want new writers, you WILL find them because there is such a crazy number of writers out there publishing books every year (sometimes more than once) that you will never keep up and it's specifically what makes it great. This category is one of the most prestigious the Dead End Follies Awards are covering. It rewards the writers I didn't know in 2010, but made my head turn this year. Jim Thompson
Matthew McBride
Josh Stallings
Anthony Neil Smith
Have you read any of those writers? Which one is your favorite?
