In case you haven't heard (that means you're not following Dead End Follies on Facebook, what are you waiting for?) Old Faithful, my desktop computer and trusted sidekick since 2007, passed away last Friday. The video card stopped working, to be more precise. Last time it happened (three or four years ago), it wasn't a problem. I removed it and the video card integrated on the motherboard took over. No foul. No harm. No money spent. But now it's the integrated video card that died, so it's pretty much over for Old Faithful.
In the meantime, I'm using Josie's eight inches netbook to communicate. It's not bad, but it's a little slow and cramped, so given that I have a limited time window to write in the morning, I'm not gonna be able to keep up the pace for a little while. It's summer, so it's probably the best time it could've happened but it still blows. Expect three to four posts a week for some time. I should be up and running in a few weeks, but in the meantime, I'll make the most out of these technical difficulties and stock up on reviews.
Speaking of which, I'm going to see ONLY GOD FORGIVES tonight. The movie has been destroyed by the critics, but since pulpsters Keith Rawson and Roger Smith loved it, I am going in with a positive mindset. By the way, did you know that it was released on just about every on-demand rental services? It's both on the PlayStation Store and on my local cable company's VOD. That's how I'm watching it tonight. I'm having a little Gosling/Refn party with Josie and our friend AT. So I'll definitely keep you posted on that.
R.I.P Old Faithful. You will be sorely missed.
