Dead End Follies Awards 2012 - Best New Writer

Tom Piccirilli

To tell you the truth, the four nominees for this categories were huge revelations to me. I have read Roger Smith, Joe Lansdale and Chuck Wendig multiple times and with rabid enthusiasm. Although, I have not read any fiction this year, with the same intensity than I have read Tom Piccirilli. His pen is so visceral, sometimes it hurt me physically to read him and this is always a good thing when it comes to literature. Piccirilli writes the darkest things I've been given to read and does it with such gusto and passion, it can only be a life affirming experience to read him. He may drag you into the darkest depths of hell, but he treats the reader as a friend. When a book elates a strong emotional reaction from me, I know I'm reading something very special and it happened more than once while reading Piccirilli this year.

As you may know, Mr. Piccirilli has been very ill this year and is currently recovering. Now is the best time to try out the best kept secret in noir/horror genres. Here are a list of personal favorites and Award-winning novels from him that won't disappoint you. Follow the links to order.

No need to thank me. Just read and enjoy.
